Our aftercare has your back. We include an industry-leading 6-month defect period, 10-year structural warranty, and first-year maintenance. We’ll check in at 1 and 6 months to handle seasonal tweaks, fix minor issues, and keep your home feeling brand new.

Design and approvals usually take 3–6 months. Construction timelines vary based on scope but average between 4–9 months.
Most major home renovations in Canberra will require Development Approval. We take care of all paperwork and liaise with ACTPLA, certifiers and heritage teams where needed.
Sometimes, yes. It depends on the renovation size and staging. We’ll advise early on whether living in is realistic or whether moving out short-term will save you time and cost.
Absolutely. We design and build with performance in mind—adding insulation, better glazing, ventilation and passive solar design to reduce energy use and running costs.
Renovating can be cheaper for minor updates, but once you alter more than 50% of the existing structure, the NCC requires you to bring the whole home up to code—pushing costs up fast. A knockdown rebuild often delivers better value long-term, with no hidden surprises and a brand-new home built to modern standards.

The 50% rule
(and why it matters)
Not sure whether to renovate or knock down? If you’re planning to change more than 50% of your home’s structure, you’ll likely trigger extra planning requirements—at which point a knockdown rebuild can often be more cost-effective. It also comes with fewer compromises: no working around outdated layouts, no guessing what’s behind the walls, and no hidden surprises like asbestos or wood rot.
But if your home’s got good bones, you love the character, or you’ve got space to extend with a few smart layout tweaks, a renovation or extension can still deliver serious impact—especially in Canberra, where planning overlays and heritage controls can make working with what you’ve got the more strategic option.

We avoid that. By shaping and pressure-testing the design early, we make sure what’s designed can actually be delivered—without shortcuts, surprises, or rework. We get involved early to make sure every decision holds up—on paper, on site, and in real life.
We work in two ways, depending on how you want to approach your project:
1. If you already have an architect or designer
We collaborate closely with your team—reviewing and refining the design to ensure it holds up against budget, buildability, and construction realities before anything is locked in.
2. We can design your home in-house
If you’d prefer a more integrated approach this is the better option for you. Our team brings design and construction together from the start—creating a home that’s considered, cohesive, and ready to be built properly.
Too often, homes are beautifully resolved in drawings, only to be redesigned later to meet cost or complexity. We avoid that completely. By resolving the details early, we protect the integrity of the design and reduce compromise down the track.
The result is a smoother path to build, clearer decisions, and a home that feels consistent from concept through to completion.
