Yes! Starting in October 2023, there will be some changes to the National Construction Code (NCC) Energy efficiency ratings for new residential buildings. To meet the updated requirements, new homes will need to have a minimum star rating of 7, which is higher than the previous requirement of 6 stars. Additionally, a new rating system will be introduced that takes into account the energy performance of appliances used for hot water, heating and cooling, solar energy generated onsite and battery storage.
